Peak-to-Average Ratio Reduction with Analog Codes
نویسنده
چکیده
| Multi-tone modulation (DMT, Discrete Multitone, OFDM, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) has the disadvantage of a quite high peak-toaverage ratio. Clipping of the high amplitudes caused by the analog circuitry leads to additional noise. In this contribution we show that in principal so-called Analog Codes (Reed-Solomon Codes over complex numbers) can be used for eliminating this noise.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals have a generic problem of high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) which is defined as the ratio of the peak power to the average power of the OFDM signal. The drawback of the high PAPR is that the dynamic range of the power amplifier and digital-to-analog converter during the transmission and reception of the signal is higher. As a resul...
متن کاملEffect of Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Reduction on the Multicarrier Communication System Performance Parameters
Multicarrier transmission system such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising technique for high bit rate transmission in wireless communication system. OFDM is a spectrally efficient modulation technique that can achieve high speed data transmission over multipath fading channels without the need for powerful equalization techniques. However the price paid for this ...
متن کاملPeak-To-Average Power Ratio Reduction by CB-ACE and Adaptive Ace Algorithms
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a method of Digital Modulation in which a signal is split into several narrowband channels at different frequencies. The OFDM technology was first conceived in the 1960s and 1970s during the research into minimizing interference among the channels near each other in the frequency [5]. The main idea behind OFDM is that since lowrate modulation...
متن کاملPeak Power Reduction in OFDM Systems for Multicarrier Transmission
The transmit signals in an OFDM system can have high peak values in the time domain since many subcarrier components are added via an IFFT operation. Therefore, OFDM systems are known to have a high PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio), compared with single-carrier systems. In fact, the high PAPR is one of the most detrimental aspects in the OFDM system, as it decreases the SQNR (Signal-to-Quanti...
